"GRC" (Geng Rebut Cabinet)
GRC is a comedy play, as part of the Singapore Theatre Festival presented by W!LD RICE. Initially, I thought it was just a political satire that sought to poke fun at the politicking behaviour of the candidates during GE. Then, I realised it was more than that -- this was a thought-provoking production that turned the country around and looked at what defines the 'minority' race and possible realities of 'racial injustice'.
Are the majority race in real-life Singapore taking things for granted? Have they spared a thought for the minority race in decision-making, or are the minority voices 'silenced'? These, and some other issues were lightly mentioned, but would definitely leave the audience with some food for thought.
There is a much better review of the play HERE and I would recommend it to any Singaporean who loves local productions.
