Apple co-founder and CEO had passed on, and the news totally gripped the world.
There was a record-breaking response on Twitter, with tweets coming at 10,000 per second, and it came in strong waves, as different parts of the world woke up to the news. Hearing about death is always a sad thing, and reading about his life stories and inspiring quotes had proved that it was a loss to the world.
But on some counts, I don't really agree with some people saying that without Steve Jobs, 'Apple products will no longer be of a high quality' or even linking revolutionary technology solely to Steve Jobs. No, that can't be true. He might have come up with the revolutionary ideas himself (that I'm not sure), but the real people who were behind all the technology has to be the silent team of engineers and software designers. Apart from hailing him as the hero, much credit ought to be given to his genius team that he worked with too. It's the same idea of giving civil servants the credit for making a Ministry tick, instead of attributing every success to a Minister.
I was glad to come across this article, What Everyone Is Too Polite to Say About Steve Jobs , about what some Apple employees -- those who are not bound by confidentiality agreements -- have got to say about their CEO. It also mentioned about how the company is experiencing a worsening child labour problem, to satisfy the huge demand for their products. I was glad to read the article, not because I dislike Steve Jobs (I do admire him!), but because it makes him more like a real person, with flaws too.

Went 爱琴海 again this weekend. I must say I was totally looking forward to it the whole week, and the wait was worthwhile--I absolutely enjoyed the first session in which the vocalists were great.
Some Cantonese songs were sung, of a mixture of slightly familiar ones and not-so-familiar ones. The singers presented all of them so well that I am going to start mastering Cantonese songs now. Though I had started learning Cantonese songs since the start of the year, I can count the number of songs I know with both hands. It's time to expand that library!
