It's just a week left to the big race this year and I've just concluded my last training run before the race.
Over the past few weeks, I'm finally utilising the RunKeeper app more than previously and I find that it did help me to better control my pace.
For the upcoming race, I shall try to do it slightly differently -- to try to maintain an average 6min/km pace for the first 21-25km, and then gradually slowing to an average of 7min/km pace for the rest of the journey. But it's dependent on the race course conditions too, especially if there are bottlenecks, the bane of all runners.
I'll aim for a sub-5:00 finish next week, hoping to recover from the worst-timing set at SCMS last December. The Personal Best timing was set just 2.5 months ago in Bali, but given the different race route and course conditions, I'm certainly not expecting to break that record in Singapore..
