Today i went for the written assessment, as part of a pre-selection round for the mpa scholarship. well, i was dere anyhow whacking the 1.5-hour-long essay, cos im not prepared to be selected for the next round de.. so its just an experience for me.. And i was like half-asleep while typing the senseless and brainless essay.. hee.

And after that, i went to meet lanjiao ppl for our DREAM MENU OUTING EPISODE 3!!!

First, we went to watch Dorm. Oh, i remembered this morning, i was checking the movie listings, den i saw one comment for Dorm, saying that its "Meaningful!". I was like laughing to myself, "how can a horror movie ever be meaningful..." ANd today, after watching the movie, i got the answer.. Its really a touching nice story and NOT the normal horror movie that it was advertised as. SO ppl who are hesitating to watch it, for reasons associating with the lack of courage or wad, i guess you shouldnt be.. really, don't miss out this film.

Then for our dream menu plan, we went to some ulu cafe at bugis.. and goodness... its some place thats got the right ambience, right furniture, right entertainment, right coffee....

im quite amazed by the cool antique coffee maker.. it has 2 separated containers.. 1 for coffee bean and 1 for plain water. den u set fire on the container with plain water, and it will condense along a tube and flow into the container of coffee bean.. the coffee will be brewed for almost a minute, and the coffee will be sucked back into the other container. there's a mini tap attached dere, and u juz open it to let the freshly-brewed coffee flow out. its really really cool la.. and i cant imagine it being used 2 centuries ago, by european royalties. ANd it costs a bomb for each of these coffee makers.. $1000+++ lA!

Then the best ting is, both of the waitresses who were tending the cafe, are actually jiaozhu's friends la.. the boss wasnt around.. THEN, we drank free coffee.. and hey! the 4 of us dere drank $87.20 worth of coffee! And if u tink we were cheating the boss of his money, u are also wrong!! We were actually re-brewing the coffee beans that the other customers left.. and the ting is, 2nd-round brewing tastes better than 1st-rounds.. so not only do we get to drink for free, our coffee also tastes much better.. WOW lor. If i were to drink those coffee at the expense of my wallet, i'll be so damn heartache la.. One of the flavours that we took, costs $30 for one small pot!!!!

So we ate there (yummy cheesecake and spaghetti that took esther&friend(the 2 waitresses) ages to prepare) , played cards there, enjoyed the music, the environment, the laziness, the ambience and all... ANd we paid $12 each, instead of the supposedly $38 each, IF we were to pay for the coffee from our wallets. Quite shuang rite. AIya, i bet no one will understand the feeling if u weren't dere... the sofas were nice.. and there's even beds to sit on upstairs.. hahaaz. And we just hope to go back there again soon...

heheheheheheheh.

Some ppl may well be very disappointed if they kena my vocation. but i dare say im relieved.

No more outfield, i think.
No more SBO, i think.
No more rifle, i think.
No more chiong sua, i think.

And if i am REALLY lucky enough, i MAY even get a job that's 9 to 5. As for whether it would really be true, wait for my blog entry on monday NIGHT. Yes, MONDAY NIGHT. cos my first-night is a no-stay-in.

And what's more, my unit is at ChangiNavalBase. Its at the EAST man..

Now, i just hope the title, "NVL CBT SYS OPR(CE)" isnt that bad. It doesnt sound so and doesnt look so, in any way. But the word "Combat (CBT)" seems cunning.

But heck, im juz gonna go celebrate. And im off to Royce's house for our OCIP BBQ!!!~

(oh, and my bunk has only 3 going command sch.. the other 10 went units.. hohoho. Section4 rocks man.)

heheh, today went nus with wx to watch kelly's campus concert..

we were kinda early actually, cos there wasnt anyone when we reached, den we managed to catch kelly rehearsing on stage.. den we waved at her, and she reciprocated it in a much confused way, trying to figure out who were the 2 retarded ppl in caps..

den halfway through the concert, there was this quiz time, to give away autographed posters..

933fm DJ Jiahui: Ok, let me ask, what is kelly's album name??

*all hands up*

Kelly: wow, how am i supposed to choose.. jiahui, help me choose...

Jiahui: Alright... Urm... how about the guy with the white cap?? (pointing in my direction)

*i looked left and right... WHAT?? ITS ME?!*

And so, i stood up and shouted the answer and earned myself an autographed poster.

And miraculously, i received 2 phone calls today.. and hey, i was shortlisted for 2 interviews. LoL! i was trying my luck when i sent in those applications and it really surprised me. but not bad la, i can treat these as experiences for future career interviews..

that would mean i can book out twice next week... but i guess that would make me consume 2 more days of leave from the remaining 9.. Damn it sia.. hopefully i wun miss out anyting important next week.

speaking about next week, the results of postings will be out soon.. I hope to get into some slack slack units leh... just serve and FO, just like the mentality of thousands of others. nvm.

Updates on my past few days..

Monday 130306
We 0704 guys went cy house for mahjong...but we only played awhile cos i was about 2 hours late.. then later in the evening, we met up with the class gals for dinner at kenny roger's.. it was quite shiok, cos the gals treated us, in order to repay their 9-month-long birthday present debt..

Tuesday 140306
It's reflections trail. Simply put, its some sort of a compulsory NE tour attended by NSFs. It wasnt as boring as i thought it was.. And it was the very very last time that our BMT platoon was gathered as a whole..

After lunching with my sectionmates, i went cy house again to meet up with the class guys and went to watch Date Movie. A brainless movie it was, and i even dozed off in the last 15 mins at least..

Then on our way home, ys and i decided to go back dhs to meet up with jf,robin,jh,vin,dy,rach for the LC campfire. Well, to me, its more of meeting up with ppl and reminiscing school days, rather than seeing the campfire or teachers. The campfire was kinda small, the number of campers had dwindled and the feeling wasnt even dere. No more teachers that i know, not many juniors that i recognise, and the school would soon be revamped.

Wednesday 150306
It's Section outing. Well, not exactly, as there were friends from other sections that came. We had International Buffet Lunch at some hotel at City Hall. I wont say the $32 was well spent, but still i quite enjoyed the food and i really ate until i felt so uncomfortable.

THen the whole lot of us went party world to sing. And hell, it was the first and last time i'd be going there. Think about buying compulsory small glasses of drinks at 7.50 each and compulsory very-small fruits and tidbits at 8.50. Thats no wonder why other competitiors that i frequent more often were able to thrive. Putting that aside, i must say i enjoyed the session.. though my singing sucks pretty much, even without coughing and sore throat, the re4 nao4 environment was enjoyable..

Feeling broke, we had cheap dinner and went swensons for an earthquake, which i cant bear to settle on. I really think my sectionmates rock.
