today's my last day as a civilian.. wow, time flies.. the one-month holiday ended so soon.. but, after all the fun and food, its really time to settle down and take up a sacred task.
its gonna be a big big day tmr. its a new phase of life that is totally different from any stages so far in my life.. its a totally new role im taking on, and will be facing a new set of challenges and responsibilities. All in just a few hours' time.
Today, i see the longest hair length that had ever grown on my head.
Tomorrow, i will see for myself, the shortest length that i've ever seen on my head.
But thats just temporary. Its the experience and lessons learnt that would accompany me for life.
And its also about building team spirit.. NP days were great memorable days. NS would be, too. But just dun let me have dumbasses as buddy or platoon mates, if not it'll be damn cham. And how about nice officers? Oh, that must be wishful tinking, for im nowhere near a white horse.
Wadever it is, its really time to face it. However ill-prepared i am in terms of mentally/physically/spiritually, im left with no choice. but im confident la, cos really, im easily adaptable. yupp.
And yes, i must really thank my relatives, for all their concern.. i received 3 good-luck-angbaos from different relatives... and also some tings to "ward off evil spirits".. Seriously, im pretty touched.. it feels really nice to have so many ppl who care.. thanks and more thanks!
And thanks too, to all of u, who had wished me good luck.. I sincerely appreciate all that well-wishing.. Many thanks again..!!
Lastly, to myself: You can really do it!!

Perhaps abit on how my last day of freedom was spent...
I woke up very early today la..at 6am, cos i was dragged by wx to help out in the dhs sec3 islandwide amazing race.. den saw quite a lot of familiar faces as helpers too... junhua was dere oso.. haha.
So.. today really travelled alot.. not only spending precious adult fares on countless mrt and bus trips, but oso ran so much today..all over the island.. but we all get a 10-buck reimbursement for our transport fare la.. (if not u tink i'll travel all over just for fun? pok liao la)
generally, its a great event.. i tink its better than my tj orientation amazing race, and also the ip orientation amazing race.. haha.. and going back to my alma mater gives me a different kind of feeling.. i feel abit out of place, with a weird hair colour and weird turnout, but yet i still feel warm and everywhere still connect to me pretty well.. duno how to say oso.. just that, somehow i have a sense of belonging when i returned..
saw ms pear and i was glad that she called out my name.. but other teachers seemed to have forgotten me already.. well, its been years ma.. and somehow i feel soooo old when travelling with all those sec 3s.. my, they are 4 years younger than me ok..
but yeah, though its a tiring day.. but i enjoyed the fun la..
not as if i have many chances to feel young and have fun running about already.
somemore from tmr onwards, i must act mature liao.

Phew.. after 2 weeks, i've finally finished watching the 70-episode-long "Da Chang Jin" (Jewel In The Palace)..
Before i watched it, i've been hearing alot about the show, and that it has become asia's most popular series.. perhaps thats what im curious about.. and thats y i decided to watch it for myself.. And somehow its addictive after i started..
I guess the story's nice and touching.. In fact, its a true story.. And some of the characters are quite good-looking too.. And i simply salute the character, changjin, for her bravery and determination..
--------------------------
And I really have no qualms about the following:
1. Its the highest rated drama in korea, erasing all the other tv records in history of the country.. When it aired, more than 50% of koreans were in hot pursuit along with the story..
2. The craze first went to taiwan and created a craze over important tourism spots in korea and also the imperial food of korea..
3. The craze spread to hongkong. The series enjoyed an average of 40% viewership, higher than many hk home-made series...When the tv station broadcast the last episode, 49% of hongkongers stayed home to watch the ending.
4. It spread to malaysia. Malaysia broadcasted the series 2 times. For the 2nd telecast, TWO different tv stations were broadcasting it at the same time, to retain their own viewers.
5. In China, the poorer ppl were willing to pay alot more to purchase a cable line, just to watch the series.. In other parts, the DCJ fever is burning hot as well..
6. The series went all the way to Canada, Australia and The Phillippines.

I have nothing to say but just 2 thumbs up.

theoretically, i should be very very very very tired now.. cos i've only slept for 45 minutes in 40 hours... but seriously, the quality time spent with the groups of friends over the 2 days is invaluable.. and the next time they'd be seeing me will be when im with my cap on...
Saturday, 31 Dec 2005Today's squad gathering at Peilin's house.. So we went her house for mahjong marathon.. DInner was settled at her place again.. and its the 2nd or 3rd steamboat dinner at her house already.. her parents are very hao4 ke4.. and her bro is still as cute la..
Then after dinner, my mahjong khakis were back into motion.. and so we played from like 9pm something, all the way to 530am in the morning... the countdown to 2006 was even done at our mahjong seats.. but the total 10-hours worth of mahjong marathon ended with me losing $11.... but well, its kindof worth it for the fun of it and the satisfaction of the 'sport' la.. cos i guess i'd be very deprived of it soon..

At PS house. Some said i look like a grandpa at the centre. After breakfast, i carried on to attend 07/04 gathering at peishan's house.. reached dere pretty early, so slept for 45 mins before the rest came.. PS's mum is another hao4 ke4 person, and prepared alot of food for us.. THen, its our much-awaited GIFT EXCHANGE. The identities of the gift presenters are revealed.. SO, i gave CYang the bracelet that i took some time in choosing from a shop at Heeren... And the gift i got was actually from chawmun... its a giordano belt. but then, the belt is too short la.. cos she somehow underestimated my waistline... haha. im NOT that skinny... but seriously, its a good choice of gift, cos i was tinking of getting a belt oso.. yupyup.
then some of us went to bake cookies/cheesecake/biscuits with help from PS's mum.. she's actually a pro in bakery... and after a few tries, ys's cookies turned out pretty well and presentable..not bad not bad. its great effort put in..
A sexy posethen its dinner at her house, and we tried to finish some of the leftover lunch.. den played some cards before leaving...and ps somehow got very high and created lots of laughter...

Jan 1 2006, this is oso the day that im officially paying adult fares.. gosh la, adult fare is soooo much more expensive than the subsidised students' fare.. SO we've learnt to strategise and plan our route well before making any embarkment, and also to minimise the use of public transport by settling the journey on foot as far as possible.. Yes, thats the extent that we all took.. Come on la, we have sooo many more years to pay adult fares... just let me continue paying the cheaper students' fare,
for the next 4 days by bus, without being caught. hee.
