my second post for the day. i was abit boliao, so decided to come up with a list of loves...

college life is ending in juz 6 official schooling days. After next next monday, we would be officially out of school, only that there's another 2 or 3 weeks of A levels that come in juz exactly 1 month later. Look at the calendar today: its the 8th of oct. My first paper begins on 8th of Nov.
Its certain that time is short and life is precious.
And i'm certain that im still uncertain about my future paths.
Yes, after Alevels, i'll indulge myself in the precious 1 month holiday.
Yes, after holiday, i'll move house to an offshore island and begin a new life.
But what comes after that? Er. I have absolutely no idea..
From a young age, many ambitions have crossed my mind.. with some crossing more times than others.. But many times I was the one who crossed them out. No way, cos some are really beyond my abilities and others seem less appealing to me now.. So, right now i have no idea what my future will be like.. What do i want? What is truly my interest? What uni courses to plunge into? No idea. Not sure. Don't know.

today got back maths S paper scripts.
Good news is: I scored a high 96%!!!!!!
Bad news is: Its actually 96% of the total attempted marks. And how much did i attempt for the paper? A humble 25 marks. So....(0.96 x 25 = 24). yup. i got only 24.
But i cant expect much from it la. Its totally difficult, and i seriously tink im not the 's' paper substance la.. I guess my role as an 's' paper student, is to fill up the last few positions, so that i can help others achieve their merits and distinctions..
Aw, what a noble me..
But to be noble, i have to waste one year to attend all the 3 periods worth of 's' paper lectures every week and have to waste so much time trying to figure out possible solutions to the killer-questions every time, which could have been put to more productive uses. Furthermore, I have to pay soooo much more to take that 2 papers, that last 3 hours each. Not only that, i'll have to suffer an extra week for A levels, and so sacrifice one whole week of that SO IMPORTANT holidays before i get drafted into the army..
big big sacrifice huh.
But cant help it la, my job's to get 2 ungraded grades, to help other ppl..

went for the basic theory TRIAL test. the actual test is this friday. so, today's test can be likened to be 'prelims', while this friday's can be thought of as the actual 'A levels'.
so 10 mins before the test, i went into the exam room.. and i was the youngest!! And definitely the odd one out too, cos i was in tj uniform.. and i suppose the tj uniform gave away my age, if not they may ask for my IC to check if im really 18.. lol. ok crap.
and i saw ms nani! yes, she's the ex-Npcc hq head of training(field).. yes, she was there to take the trial test too.. and she was directly behind me.. so coincidental.. but i didnt go and acknowledge her la, she duno me anyway..
ok the trial test.. was supposed to be a 50-MCQ paper in 45 mins.. but i completed it in like 12 minutes.. partly cos this is juz trial, so i can anyhow do, anyhow guess, anyhow click. When i clicked the 'end test' link 12 mins later, it showed the following results:
76% correct
(one would have thought that 76%, being a sure-'A' grade in any academic exams, will be a guaranteed pass.. but sadly no ok. singapore's drivers have high standards. unless you get a minimum of 90% correct, you are blessed with 'fail')
yes, failed.
But it doesnt matter, for now. since its only 'prelims'.. the 'A levels' is still 3 days away.
Feeling abit bu shuang, i logged on again (since i still have AMPLE time left), and wanted to redo the test.. actually, i was hoping that the questions are different this time round, so i can have more practice, but looks like they only prepared 50 standard questions for everyone..
now, this time i got 100%! woohooo!
right, thats stupid. Of cos it will be 100% la, after knowing all the correct answers.
Having played enough, i requested to leave the room, after a total of 30 mins. When i stood up, all eyes were turned on me..
Is it surprising to see a small kid finishing the test and being the first to leave?? I don't tink so la, trial test only right..

OOps. Before i get myself hacked by ALL those who had contributed to our fund-raising project last year, let me assure you all that those money were really put into good use..
Then what the hell is those big bucks i was talking about?Imagine this: If you paid $500 in cash, and later got back $715 of refund from the subsidy, wouldn't that mean you've earned a net $215 in cash???
Now, here's the logic (and the full method of MAKING money out of ILLIQUID ASSETS)..
Last year, for our OCIP trip to Sabah, we were told to pay up $500 bucks each. Then subsequently, we were asked to hand up an edusave form to withdraw a total of $400 dollars.. Now, so essentially, that means we paid only $500 so far right, considering edusave money aren't really money, cos they are 'illiquid assets', as you can't use them as 'REAL CASH' that gives you the absolute spending power as you wish..
Then, according to SIF(i think it stands for Singapore International Fund), each individual can claim a duno how many percent of subsidy out of the total expenses.. (was it 60%?).. So we are supposed to pay the rest of the 40% on our own..(that comes from the 500+400 above).
Somehow it worked out, that after paying for our part of 40%, the excess money was $715! So we can get the excess money returned to us, IN CASH.
Hey, isn't that clear? We paid $500 in cash, and got back $715 in cash!! wouldn't that mean, we had actually indirectly turned a Net $215 worth of illiquid assets (from edusave) to liquidity (as cash) ?

Now, i hope i dun give anyone any wrong idea... haha. none of us knew of this 'method' ok.. its juz a discovery that we found out, when we got back the $715 refund from ms leong today.. heheh.
Cos the theory is that, once you withdraw money from edusave, the excess money that was not used, CANNOT be deposited back into edusave again.. so in effect it becomes cash..
so that's totally cool.. i shall return the $500 RIGHTFULLY to my dad, and pocket the excess $215.. (hello, that $215 is rightfully mine, cos its from MY edusave account, remember?)
these $215 shall be a MUCH-NEEDED BOOST to my "Post A Levels Great Plans Fund". The $215 shall be a humble first deposit to this enjoyment fund.. heheheh.

Well, today oso got back my GP paper.. and for the first time, I PASSED an essay exam!! whoa.. i've been getting 20 to 23 for the past 4 exams lor.. so its quite an encouragement la.. but it never fails to occur to me, that gp is a very volatile subject, just like econs.. Cos, at one moment, you can score marks deep down in a valley, but all of a sudden, you can get marks that u wun expect.. This certainly gives me the uncertain feel, both in GP and econs, which both depend on how well you write during the exams.. So, i duno la.. perhaps luck plays a major part..
I shall still be as lucky during A levels, right?
