Sometimes, there's just this feel of awkwardness when u r in a group of company and then there's this added character, who is there because he knows a person in that group.
Awkward, because it's not possible for the person-in-question to be fully assimilated to the group and understand them. And then, there would be attempts by the group's members to break the ice, only to end up in an embarrassing silence somewhere, somehow. And conversations would be, at best, superficial or half-hearted.
And so when i knew the outing today would be like that, i wasn't that interested to go, since I would be that person-in-question. But, as always, it isn't me to reject people, right..
It turned out not bad actually. The movie wasn't bad, and then dinner, followed by a strategic game of Citadel. It's kinda cool that Youshen and his gang actually meet up occasionally to play such high-class games.
Which reminds me, where are my ♠Spades♠ khakis?

Myth #5: "Your cheeks or lips will swell, reaching its largest size in about 72 hours"
Fact: I've got no swellings of any sort, as least after 50 hours by now. It seems weird, as im not experiencing most of what other people do, like swelling on the cheeks, bleedings for the 1st 2 days and even pain. But of course, i'm not complaining!
------------------------
I've gotten a new phone, after using the previous one for a good half-decade. It takes a little while getting use to it, including the sudden addition of so many new functions, compared to the previous one. And im taking eons to reply messages!
And since i'm ditching starhub to embrace singtel, WX, if u r sending internet smses, don't forget to use the correct website yea. But start only after next week i guess..

Sidenote: Someone chanced upon this blog today after googling my jc civics tutor name.. Was it another proud student of Mr D? Or............. could it be Mr D himself?

Myth #1: Wisdom Teeth Excision/Extraction takes 2 hours (or so I thought, from the instruction, 'take 2 hours off if you are doing local anaesthesia)
Fact: It didnt take more than 15 minutes!
------------------------
Myth #2: I get to see the tools/equipment involved!!!
Fact: To my disappointment, my whole body was covered (in GREEN, not WHITE!?), exposing just my nose and mouth, which increased the uncertainty..
------------------------
Myth #3: There'll be profuse bleeding.......
Fact: It didn't bleed as much as i expected actually. But then again, it's too early to judge.
------------------------
Myth #4: It'll be soooo painful!! Living hell-type!
Fact: 6 hours after the completed surgery, there's still no feeling. But then again, i guess the numbness hasn't totally worn off yet.
------------------------
And so 2 wisdom teeth out, 2 more to go. There wasn't any pre-surgery jitters, not even at the moment when my name was called, probably because I had gotten enough prior experience. Having extracted 4 teeth many many years ago for the braces treatment, and having to visit the dentist every month for 4 years at that time, I'm more than used to being worked on by a dentist.
But i did tense up a little during the process. It was painless, thanks to the local anaesthesia, but the sound of don't-know-what drilling into my gums, and then another don't-know-what twisting and turning and then forcefully digging/pulling out the teeth, was a little unnerving.
It was when I got down from the oh-so-comfy-bed that i realised how wet my feet were, coming from the trapped heat (the blanket was thick) and the tense.
So i'll have to nurse the hole (where the teeth were), the supposed bleedings, the upcoming swellings in the gums and face, over the next few days. Gotta return a week later, to remove the stitches that sew back the sliced-off gums. And Part 2 of the surgery will come at month-end.
Anyway, the dentist was kind enough to give me the 2 nasty teeth in a transparent ziplock packet, which i could use to conduct my first-ever Tooth Fairy experiment tonight!
