The birthday came and went. You know you're not that young anymore, when birthdays become quieter by the year, and fewer people remember them.
It's the 2nd year that I removed my birthday information from Facebook, after realising that too much convenience has made people become lazy and passive. Think: when we were young, we made cards for friends on their birthdays. But in today's wired world, we RELY on Facebook to tell us that it's our friend's birthday today, and that we should just type "Happy Birthday" on his/her wall and that's that.
Hence, I don't really appreciate Facebook birthday messages, and I seldom send them now. I'm actually glad that I received a grand total of zero birthday wishes through Facebook this year.
It is almost impossible to receive birthday cards nowadays, so a simple SMS would do fine. (Ok, to me, an SMS takes more effort than a Facebook message). Thank you all for the SMS (and whatsapp) well-wishes. And of course, the face-to-face wishes!
Turning 25 seems a little uneasy. It's probably because of the number, midway between 20 and 30. It didn't feel too long ago when I celebrated my 21st birthday. Uneasy, because it makes me feel old enough to 'need' to accomplish more things than I have right now. Sounds a little depressing, but let me say that I did enjoy my birthday this year, including adding some 'meaning' to it, by choosing this special day to give blood.
Happy birthday to all Cancers in the world too!

I made a recent trip (28~30 June) to Bali. It wasn't really for holiday as it was to be a teambuilding work deal, and the clients flew us to a resort there.
A couple of memorable stuff.
1. It was my first time conducting a game task in Chinese (It was a Chinese company), and it felt new and different.
2. It was my first time going overseas for teambuilding work, and it felt really chillax. Being overseas just means that you're away from the computer and it's pretty much just the TV in your room and the gigantic 4-person super-sized bed that I have all to myself.
3. It was my first time in Bali, and it didn't feel any different from other touristy Indonesian islands like Bintan and Batam. I loved the weather there--though it is sunny (and hot) in the day, it wasn't that humid, and the nights were cooling. Oh, and the beach and the coastline were pretty.
4. Our working hours in Bali were relatively short, compared to a typical teambuilding day in Singapore, and that really gave us good amounts of chill time to watch tv/sleep/read/sun-tan/eat.
Am really thankful for the overseas opportunity. I did have fun there and enjoyed the 3 luxurious days.
