The hype this weekend had to be the newly unveiled Sports Hub. There was an open house for the various sporting facilities on Friday/Saturday (which I didn't drop by). One highlight was the Fireworks display on Friday night, as part of a one-year countdown to the 2015 SEA Games, to be held in Singapore next June.
We watched the fireworks across the water near the Nicoll Highway station. To my surprise, it was quite a long display of pyrotechnics.

And on Saturday, there was a Mega Chinese Orchestra concert held at the new National Stadium. This first musical event held at the newly built stadium was one that was record-breaking: About 5000 musicians took part in the performance that went straight into the Guinness World Records.
A shot taken outside one of the many Gates into the stadium.
Somewhere in between the performance, there were fireworks seen through the opening of the venue. The fireworks display was actually for an NDP rehearsal. The dome-shaped Stadium cannot be fully enclosed -- there will be an opening through which the Marina Bay skyline can be seen from the audience seats.
During the record-breaking segment, there were auditors that stood at every section in front of the musicians. They helped confirm the 2 Guinness World Record attempts, which were successful. The 5000-strong orchestra was made up of the SCO, various CO groups from schools all around the country, and was also represented by many players from various countries.
人生是黑白的.
