"Interpol issues alert for Singapore militant escapee"
"Interpol issued an urgent worldwide alert Friday for an alleged leader of the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) militant network nearly 48 hours after he escaped from a detention centre in Singapore.
Mas Selamat bin Kastari, who was accused of planning to hijack a plane and crash it into Singapore's Changi Airport, escaped Wednesday from the city-state's Whitley Road Detention Centre.
In a notice on its website, the global police body said it issued the Orange Notice alert following a request by Singapore. "
He couldn't have escaped, can he?

I passed by Bukit Timah 3 times today. Each time I did, I can't help but think about how dramatic the Mas Selamat incident had escalated. 1 policeman or 1 army guy standing every few steps away from each other. That makes it to be hundreds of people, considering the vast land area involved.
This aftermath exaggeration shouldn't even take place at all. What's with all the show, now that such a grave mistake had taken place?
The fact that the Number 1 Wanted Man escaped under broad daylight in the afternoon, and that the person was supposed to be limping, is simply and terribly atrocious.
The authorities certainly owe Singaporeans a reasonable explanation. Blunders on internal security of this sort shouldn't take place in Singapore.
And I think they should stop shifting focus on the fact that the man made use of 'going toilet' to escape. Come on, was everyone sleeping?

I realised I've not been giving this upcoming event the kind of publicity it deserves in my blog. Especially when I'm part of the organising committee! I've been in this project since October 2007, and finally, the event is taking flight!
"Gaiamania 2008 is a programme to foster awareness and encourage efforts among youths to preserve and maintain the environment; nurturing their sense of responsibility and understanding of current global situations by providing knowledge through a series of the arts/music.
Gaiamania 2008 is a 1-day event to be held on the 14th March 2008, from 6.30pm till 9.30pm, at the NTUC Auditorium. This will be a show which targets up to 550 youth participants.
To put in a short stint, GaiaMania 2008 first starts off with an exhibition put up by Soka Association as well as the National Environment Agency. Following that, it would be a series of high quality and entertaining performances put up by various secondary schools. These include a concert band performance, guitar ensemble, choir and much more! Do note that all these performers are doing their best to do their part for the environment. All performances for the evening are all environmentally related."

老大 actually managed to summon the '三仙', who must have mastered some disappearing powers over the past few years. But sadly not one of the girls in 4B went.
