With my BMT section-mates

i met up with my bmt section-mates again, for our monthly outing. We were supposed to go chinatown k-ster to sing, but it was kinda dumb that the meeting place was city hall, and so after meeting at city hall, we took a train to chinatown...waste money sia..

But my first-time experience at k-ster wasn't bad.. 4 hours of singing+ 2 drinks each+ snacks + a nice comfy room with pillows, for just $15, quite comparable to some other better-known competitors. And after 4 hours, we were offered another 3-hour extension by just paying for another jar of drinks ($15) !!! So if that 15 bucks were to be divided by 6 people, we just have to fork out 2-odd dollars for THREE more hours!! Shiok sia, but we didnt take up the offer cos most of us have other programs later..

Then, the group of us went BACK to city hall to go marina sq, as we had planned for a movie. I thought that i could finally watch another movie after such a long time since my previous one, but still the plan was called off in the end, cos of unsuitable movie timings. We ended up walking around marina sq in circles for quite a long time to look for places to eat, and we ended up at cafe cartel, where i took free bread to fill up my stomach before meeting my jc class afterwards.

Luckily 0704 decided to eat at marina sq as well, so it was a convenient meet-up with them. It was 2 or 3 months since we last had dinner together liao.. But the horror part was, I had to accompany them to walk around marina sq in circles AGAIN to look for places to eat!!! And the crowd everywhere was terrible, cos of the last fireworks extravaganza later on. And so finding a place to eat became a chore..

we caught 30% of the fireworks performance, inside marina square. Only 30% of it, cos the other 70% was blocked by other buildings and also the reflection of lights from the glass window that we were looking out from.. But still not too bad, it was still sufficient to satisfy me.

And again, we walked in circles around marina sq, citylink and raffles city, and after almost 1.5 hours, we finally found our first available seats at raffles city starbucks. I think shopping malls should really consider extending their operating hours, especially during weekends, cos closing at 10pm or 11pm is way too early. And i thought marina sq should have had late night shopping for at least the 4 nights of fireworks, so as to cater to shoppers after the show, instead of closing everything at 10.

Still, today's quite fulfilling.. hopefully i can get the class foto taken today from cy soon, so i can post up here..

I was posted to Navy for 5 months already, but my first navy-related photos were taken only less than 3 weeks ago. All because of tight controls over image-capturing equipment. But this is an exception, as our current course training centre want us to take photos along the way in this 10-week course so as to make some sort of a memory flashback when we end this course in end sept. I guess this is one thing i like about my current training centre.

Well, quite obviously that our class size is very small--only 5 of us. This is already my 3rd class since i entered navy. This current JTQT phase is quite shiok so far, in terms of welfare and freedom, and our course superiors (both specs and officers) are understanding and nice.. IN a way, this phase can qualify as one of the better, if not the best, part of navy life so far.

these aren't the only photos taken, but i'll try to upload more when i receive them. =)

woo, i went for my 3rd blood donation today! And surprisingly i was the first customer of the day... but before that, the doctor asked if i had taken any malaria pills recently, and the only malaria pills that i could remember were the ones taken 2 years ago for the ocip trip, and so i said no.. But 1 hour after one full packet of blood was taken off, it suddenly daunt on me that i had also taken them this year during BMT. ANd so i went to tell one of the nurses, who promised to relay the message to the doctor after lunch.. I was hoping that my phone didnt ring in the whole afternoon, cos i wouldnt want to lose 450ml of blood for nothing... In the end, it didnt ring, so i assume its ok la.

then i oso shun4 bian4 went for the free medical checkup. ANd i found out 2 facts about myself.

1. I've officially stopped growing taller.
2. BUT im gaining weight!!! Underweight for more than half of my living years, i've finally reached 57kg, which is considered acceptable.

i went to watch the fireworks today with vin, my fireworks khaki.. it turned out that today's show was much better than the one we watched 3 days ago, on 8 Aug, by the singapore team. there were many unique patterns, and the really novelty ones were those that exploded out from the water.. the 12-min long show by New Caledonia (i've never heard of the country prior to this) was really wonderful.

then we came to meet junhua, chongyang, yixiu and zhenhui after that, and walked a long leg-breaking journey here and there until we reached suntec subway. i was really tired la, and heng vin's dad played the most valued chauffeur to send us all home....

hmm, after 2 rather empty weekends, this will be one very busy weekend ahead.. gonna meet up 3 groups of friends.. i shall update more..
