Had dinner with fellow NSF ship crew--Ah cham, desmond & weihong. 'Juz Acia' at dhoby exchange is really affordable. Their set meals come with Free Flow coffee, drinks and ice cream! And it's really, really rare to find places that don't charge service charge.. So we had a little chat about work, plans and enquired about uni life from weihong.

Anyway, recently I had this little conversation with a fellow Gaiamania Committee member.
[Somewhat paraphrased.]
A: So what're you doing now?
Me: Oh, I'm actually working night shift.
A: Really? As what..?
Me: I answer calls..
A: OH! I'm INTERESTED in that! Quite high-paying right, I heard. So how is it, entertaining lonely people at night?
Me: [bemused] I'm sure you're thinking along the wrong line. Mine's not THAT kind of calls leh.
A: Hahaha. How would I know... You look like one~

I was happily roped in to help out in today's Sentosa event as late as 9:30am, thanks to an MC by a fellow facilitator. And so the morning was pure rushing, from Orchard's office, to home, to Sentosa, at 12 noon.
During the race, at the station where I was at, I saw a small group walked by, and there were Kym Ng and Pornsak, who were preparing to film 全新体验. Speaking about the latter, I really admire his flair for language. He's a thai, and he also speaks Singaporean English, and his Mandarin puts me to shame. Little wonder why he was the Best Newcomer in 2007, and has programmes on TV throughout the year. I've taken notice of his wit at hosting, during his days at radio station 1003, before he decided to cross-over to TV. Perhaps I should work harder for my Japanese too.
The station where I was at, was just next to the Sky Tower. That was when I realised I've fed wrong information about the attraction to a caller a few days back. And speaking about that particular caller, I remembered that he sounded as if he actually knew about things. I had a hunch that he was testing me--he even asked for my full name (and how to spell it) at the end of the call. But then again, why would anyone want to test my knowledge at such a graveyard timing of 12 midnight??
Anyway, BBQ dinner at the beach bar was superbly shiok. Hopefully it wouldn't be long before I'm next invited to help out at events.

It took me until last night to realise there's a sleeping bag in the office! Heh, I don't have to lie on the office chair anymore!
And, excluding the nuisance call that I was smart enough not to answer, the call volume was at a low of just 3 calls.. I had such ample time to sleep away..
An easy job it is, but a tad boring when you are all alone.

It's already 8 days into the new year, and for the Nth time, I still think in terms of 2007.
Perhaps i should cease wasting time around and start doing constructive things.
I shall achieve more than what I did in 2007.
But, can I start tomorrow?

I have been attending gatherings everyday since the new year arrived.

1st Jan 2008: 4B Dinner at Ricetable.
Half the class turned up, and we had a pretty nice Indonesian Buffet, which was just $25. I really liked the food there, and the variety is better than the Riverside Indonesian at Clarke Quay.
And the group went on to Starbucks to chill.

2nd Jan 2008 ~ 3rd Jan 2008: Squad Chalet at Costa Sands.
3 years since our last chalet, we had our latest one at Costa Sands. More than 20 people made time for this weekday-chalet, some even stayed overnight when they have work the next day. BBQ, mahjong, cards, and all the typical chalet activities weren't the most important. What matters more, is the gathering of everyone, mostly-seen or less-seen, together at such a relaxed setting, and celebrate our friendship and camaraderie. Thanks to Vincent and Yehlin for organising.

*********************4th Jan 2008: Gaiamania Committee Meeting at Jinxiong's place.We had our latest committee meeting at JX's place, where we had good food too. It made the meeting seemed less formal and more enjoyable. Some of us even stayed for a short karaoke at his sound-proof attic.*********************5th Jan 2008: OCIP Potluck at Vidhi's Palace.Vidhi's flying again, and so this potluck materialised barely 2 weeks since the last one on Christmas Day. I had to leave early, for cousin's wedding, and so didn't get to eat her acclaimed Tom Yam mushrooms...................But her palace was just too grand. The elevator opens to her house, which takes up the entire level of the building. The total floor area is so spacious and my humble estimation's that it is at least 3 times bigger than mine. Squeaky clean and with the palace-like decorations, it just feels like a Middle East royal mansion. Awesome.
