I got into the radar vocation, which means that for the next 9 weeks, i'll be trained as a radar specialist and when im posted onboard ship, i'll be working with navigational instruments & equipment and will be doing a hell lot of paper & admin work. It really doesnt sound bad, but it really doesnt mean that i should be over-confident of anything at the moment.
And i really feel lucky, cos my current class size is only 5 people. And my current course commander is a nice person, who gives us a lot of welfare and really treats us well and gives in to us in almost everything. In the classroom, he even allows us to play CHINESE POP music, on HIS IPOD. He adopts a different teaching strategy--he lets us SURF NET in the classroom and do peer teaching, rather than teaching us on powerpoint. He brings us sweets and gives us alot of leeway here and there, and attends to all our needs, and fights for our rights. Looks like my next 9 weeks will be quite enjoyable huh.
And oh, after the 9 weeks, i'll most prob be posted to a ship and enjoy 8-5! Ok, perhaps 730-530 to be exact. Seriously, i cant wait, although life onboard a ship will take a plunge from the current life at school... but have to face it la, the sooner it comes means the sooner im gonna ord. Cool.
ANd just as i thought my lucky july will just end happily, im thrown with a sunday guard duty this week. Well, wad else but to accept it?
today i also had dinner with the passed-out ncos from the 3rd batch of cadets in bg. actually, didnt get the chance to attend the entire pop in bg, cos its all in the afternoon and im still in camp. And when we were at century sq, the tables were rather scattered, so didnt have the chance to interact with the others. but ok la, as wad weibin said, the most important thing is that they enjoyed themselves. Its their meaningful day anyway.

Let me blog a bit more on the zpop concert last friday.
Thanks to my uncle, i was able to attend the concert this year. he got it from his company. Armed with my mp3 player, I hoped to record 'live' performances from the singers. And i did--for ALL the songs that were sang. And hence it made me quite a busy audience..
But the quality didnt turn out good. The volume was just too loud for the speakers/ear piece to tahan. I should have decreased the volume of the player much more..
But its kinda stupid for the 10-20% of the audience who made an ugly exit when President was handing out awards to donors and sponsors. Perhaps they don't know that for any concert, there would be an encore segment. Those kiasu people who are afraid to be caught in any jams or whatsoever were duly punished for losing out on 4 more songs and a short interview-cum-posing-for-photoshots segment. Bleah.
The weekend was also quite a satisfying one, with the scratching of my itching heart for KBox (2 months since the last) and Mahjong (4 months since the last). Thanks to pl for hosting!
