The 我要唱下去！experience
About 11am: YS and I reached the battleground at K Union.
1pm: We FINALLY got our numbers. There was still at least 120 people in between, so we could go for a long lunch break.
3pm: Back to the battleground. We were ushered into a karaoke room with about 30 others. We were given a list of about 60 songs by all-different singers, and we could pick 5 of them within 5 minutes. And the final audition song will be one of the 5! The songs were a good mix of oldies and newer songs; and comprised of both male/female singers; from local and overseas.
Most of the songs were familiar ones, since they were definitely classic and popular songs by each of the 60 singers. I chose 天黑黑，勇气，过火，寂寞的季节 and 伯乐.
The next 3 hours: We were ushered from room to room as the contestants were slowly cleared. It was frantic preparation of the 5 songs. All 5 were in my ipod. BUT my ipod died by 5-plus. The incessant repeating of the 5 songs did help to get the lyrics in, but I knew it would be a totally different thing when the REAL audition comes.
6pm: It was almost our turn! YS went in, and I heard the tune of 东风破. We kinda expected him to be landed with this song, since it didnt seem a popular choice by other contestants. But according to YS, he got stumped and paused somewhere before continuing the lyrics..
Then it was my turn! The K Union function room was huge. There were 3 judges, 1 cameraman (with camera), and 4-5 other assistants. All eyes were on me. I started to get jittery. I proceeded on to the centre of the large room, collected the mic, and stood on the designated cross on the floor.
Then 天黑黑 sounded! I heaved a little relief. But my mind wasn't totally at ease. It was stressed. I didn't even realise 许美珍 was among the ranks of the judges. My eyes were glued to the TV screen, but mind was in a turmoil.
The part WITH LYRICS:
"我的小时候 吵闹任性的时侯
我的外婆总会唱歌哄我
夏天的午后 老老的歌安慰我
那首歌.................." THEN THE MV PAUSED AND THE MUSIC STOPPED.
The part WITHOUT LYRICS:
"那首歌 好像这样... EH, 那首歌.... 那首歌好像这样唱的" (At this point, I know it's gone case)
(But we're supposed to sing until the judge stopped us.)
"天黑黑 欲落雨 天黑黑 黑黑
我爱上让我奋不顾身的一个人
我以为这就是我所追求的世界
然而横沖直撞被误解被骗是否成人的世界背后种有残缺
我走在 每天必须面对的分岔路

爱总是让人哭" (Judge: "可以了.")
And the room went into a complete silence. I picked up my belongings and left the room without looking back. It was all so awkward.
Now, I just realised I've missed out a full verse before singing the chorus!!!! So I can totally give up hopes of being notified 1 month later.
So, the conclusion is, no matter how well you've prepared, the immense stress at the end still matters!!
But this is still an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience. We knew it was quite impossible to edge out hundreds of other well-prepared contestants, so we just went to 玩玩就够了. At least we had a taste of how an audition for a television gameshow is like, and we brought back a unique experience!
(Now, we'll just go back to private karaokes in future!)

I'm horribly under-prepared for it, but still gonna give it a try. The prize money is a lure.
But look, even if I fail at the very first line of the song, I would still have gained the experience of braving the stress of singing awfully and inaudibly to an audience.
Anything more will be a bonus.

Anyway, the first Guitar class today wasn't bad! But still a little slow when it comes to matching the musical scores with the ABCs. It will get better soon.
I like the small class size of 8. But I can sometimes feel the awkwardness experienced by the teacher when the class didnt respond to his questions. I must say he tried hard though.
My interest for the instrument is still there after the crucial first lesson. Which is good. And it's, kinda fun too. Now, are there any kind souls to recommend cheap and nice guitars?
