2 weeks ago, I gave my entire weekend to S.H.E.

And yeah, I've finally put words into action today, by registering for my Japanese class! I'm gonna start taking up this third language from december. Hopefully i'll have the patience to continue all the way to the major exams.. And more importantly, I'll also hope that future guard duties will not overly mess up my class schedules..

my saturday was spent with my bmt mates again. I guess this once-every-two-months outing practice will continue. 6 of us were present, including hanqun, eric, yuanshao, bingfu, khengwee. And as usual, it was a K-ster + dinner combo. But hopefully the programme for the next outing can spare 'k-ster' for once, as we had been doing it for many times? Im hoping for a bbq/chalet/or just purely food for the whole day.
perhaps i have had repeated this for many times by now, but i still would love to say that im pretty much honoured to have this bunch of bmt friends that we still hang out together regularly. Honestly, i have NOT heard of anyone else around me, who still keep in contact with their bmt friends the way WE do.
Perhaps that's the case when you have same-aged people with similar interests put together. And that's why our entire bunk was so united during and after bmt. Yesterday, someone mentioned about the days when everyone contributed and bought snacks and tidbits in when we book-in on sundays, with the intention of lasting us for a week, but eventually the 2-BIG-TABLES-FULL of food (piling like a small hill) would be gone by the end of 1 or 2 days. This has been one experience that i didnt have the chance to bring in to my current navy days.
Speaking about my current navy life, i think life onboard a ship sucks totally. Guess what, after being posted onboard for 4 weeks, i only managed to witness how political it could be a few days back. And it involves me. Apparently it seems that regulars have something against NSFs. And in navy, regulars are those with ranks like 1SG and SSG, and they are all over 24 or 25 years. And the ratio of regulars to NSFs onboard my ship is roughly 3:1. I just don't understand why they need to backstab us and bad-mouth us. And we NSFs have no choice but to fight a LOSING battle against them. I have no idea how i will survive in the next 12 months.
It is a sad thing that, at a time when im trying to grow to like the vocation that im trained in, such incidents have to happen to shatter it all. Looks like in future, i'll just report to the ship every morning with a heavy heart, do the bare minimum that im required, and countdown to knock-off timing. I know that shouldnt be the case as it would make me a very unhappy person for the remaining 1 year, but, with so many 小人 around, there's no reason to do otherwise.
On a lighter note, today is 5th november 2006. ORD date is 5th november 2007. Although time still passes as slowly as it can be, but at least i've reached this significant milestone.
