Not too long ago, this online channel engaged us for our Laser Shootout guns to film an episode of their show. It has been uploaded HERE. It was a very short less-than-an-hour filming affair which we weren’t required to appear on screen. Won’t be commenting much here, just that it’s a refreshing change from the usual deals that we always work in.
Not forgetting a group shot with the hosts…-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last weekend, the interns had our 6th outing and we played Lasertag. Ok strictly speaking, they played, since I volunteered to conduct the game for them. Having conducted the game many times, this was actually just the first time for people that I know. And it feels very much different. At the back of my mind, I was perhaps overly concerned about many questions: whether they’d like the game or whether they would think that it was too expensive or whether the location was good enough for their pleasure, etc etc. After all, I suggested this when plans for Paintball came up, and I certainly won’t want Lasertag to turn out to be a poor substitute for Paintball, without the pain/paint.
I was glad they felt it was intense. Even during the very first mission, some of them were asking me “How long more?”. It was visibly tiring, from their looks and perspiration, and the animated discussions during the break in between missions. Then 2 more vigorous missions followed to end off the 1.5-hour session. When some of them began suggesting to come back for more before graduation, it was clear that they did enjoy it very much.

The once-in-50-years Orchard floods happened again, just when we're about to celebrate the 1st year anniversary of the epic June 16 floods in 2010.
To be fair, the amount of rainfall recorded today, was even heavier than on June 16 last year. And the disaster duration didn't last as long as last year's. But I guess the 2010 excuse of fallen leaves that choked the canals cannot be used again.
I was in the heart of the disaster area this morning. The waters began rising fast at 11am. At that time, I was still having my weekly Japanese lesson.
At 11:05am, the security guard dashed into our class, shouting "Mdm! Remove your car! B1, B2 and B3 all flooded!"
My sensei rushed out, telling us "gohun gohun!" (5 minutes, 5 minutes!). By the time the lesson ended at 1130am, she was still not back. Apparently, her car was in B2, which really had much trouble coming up, as it was a massive jam in the basement carpark.
At 1130am, I left the classroom, and headed to the nearest window on the 5th storey. Even the ground level was flooded. The muddy water level on the tarred road, was already almost shin-level. In a way, we were stranded in the building, because not many would want to step outside into the brown waters at shin-level voluntarily. But there was one thing everyone could do -- whip out their phones and start snapping photos away.
Thankfully, the waters subsided quite fast after a while. Not totally, but it was much easier to walk after that. I headed to the nearest bus stop, boarded a bus, and watched the action from a comfortable seat inside.
