1st Blog anniversary!

It all started with curiosity last june, and at that time, I didnt realise what's so great about blogging. In fact, I was blinded by the thought that having online diaries is a female sport. But since the squad blog was established last May, and after contributing some entries there, I gradually grew addicted to the activity.

So from then on, blogging has changed from being a pastime to a commitment. Currently I feel that it has become a duty to post entries here regularly, so as not to upset any regular readers, if there are any to begin with. But of cos, I am the biggest reader of myself, as one of the reasons why I started this, was to combat my laziness for recording scenes of my life in the form of a written diary.

Blogging is an activity that really gives you a sense of satisfaction and achievement with the completion and publish of every entry. You feel that a piece of your effort is being done and when you realise that its been appreciated by others, you'll experience a generally great feeling. Well, but perhaps thats only for me. But i do encourage blog-less people to start one, as it is really fun. The initial worry of a run-dry of inspirations to write (or rather, type) hasn't hit me once since I started.

Ok, let's look at this blog I have here...

Major changes have been brought into this blog since its launch a year ago.

From a dull and uninteresting blogskin and layout, to another design which I've cleanly forgotten, to the current design of a tunnel. Then from a quiet blog experience, to one that plays chinese pop music for nearly 1 month, and then to the quiet atmosphere again, after considering comments by others. And again, the content has changed from a boring desciption of the blogger's dull happenings in a day, to the inclusion of random entries that serve as an alternative read, to the posting of non-diary entertainment entries, to a blog that serve as an occasional advertising platform, and recently, to one that comments randomly on current affairs. Also from a very Singlish blog, to one that tries as far as possible to be typed in full English words.

And it is a promise that more revamps will come underway in future. It is already in consideration to include other likely excitement, like weekly columns, chinese entries, story games, etc. But of cos, suggestions are always welcome.

So may this anniversary be the first of many more to come.

Let this 179th entry of this blog end with the expression of many thanks to the support you've given me!

yay. i checked my payslip for the month and it showed that i've 550 for this month, all thanks to the ippt SILVER!

which means i have a higher purchasing power for the month, which comes timely for GSS. perhaps i may be getting myself a pair of shoes. Afterall, i've been buying shirts all these months. I added 2 more to my wardrobe yesterday, before meeting eric, yuanshao, dinghao and hanqun for a movie+dinner. I think "The Omen" wasn't as nice as i thought, especially during the slow-motioned beginning, when I started sleeping.

World cup fever has invaded the globe and I didn't want to be left out. I may not be interested in playing the sport, but it doesn't mean that im not interested in watching it. This is especially so for major events like World cup, as it would leave me behind trend if I stay out of it. And so I was glued to the tv screen during the opening match. I watched the match from the TV set in my camp's operations room, while I was doing guard duty.

And it was just last night when I went to place my first-ever bets from Singapore Pools. The first time since I am legalised to bet since i turned 18, which has almost been a full year. Betting for fun, instead of harbouring the mindset to earn quickbucks, should be healthy I think. Afterall, if we look at ourselves from a wider scope, we'll realise that most of the things we do in everyday life involves a certain level of gambling. As long as the stakes aren't too unreasonably high, it won't do much except to spice up a dull life.

A new week's arriving. This will be one tough week ahead. 3 days spent to do fire-fighting "totally drenched in your own sweat" and the next 2 days spent to learn about what to do when a ship leaks, so it would be 2 days of being drenched in water. A wet week indeed, and worse, i'm the next i/c to shoulder all responsibilities.

Hopefully everything's fine yeah.
