The Aware EGM today DID turn out to be a MEGA drama.
I started following the latest updates to the saga at 3-plus, and refreshing this blog (do read, it kept me entertained the whole afternoon) every now and then to read about the latest developments happening Live at Suntec. Catfights seemed aplenty, with constant jeerings and shoutings between the exco and the members, which had totalled 3000, a ten-fold increase over a month.
From the start of the session, the 'new exco' seemed doomed to fail eventually, with crowds boo-ing at critical timings, and Josie Lau couldnt even give a complete President's opening speech. I guess it irked the members even further with the constant threats to get the security to chase the jeering members out. And of cos, the classic 'Shut Up and Sit Down'. Do you think even the most neutral members wouldn't start taking sides after witnessing such?
Perhaps one major blow to the 'new exco' was the revelation of the $90,000 spending in the past month-- $70,000 above the level by which members' consent must be sought first. This could have legal consequences, and I wonder if any actions would be taken. NGOs are afterall, non-profitable. Such unregulated spending habits truly make the team non-credible.
And finally, the vote of non-confidence successfully ousted the few ambitious women, putting a close to the chapter, and ending the series of drama. And a new, latest exco was elected under the witness of the thousands of members.
I wonder how Josie will feel when she's back at her work. DBS had advised against the taking up of the portfolio, but she went ahead. Now, she's ousted and is under the negative limelight of the scandals. IF she used to garner respect as a VP of the bank, I'm sure it's mostly gone now.
(And I find it amusing, that the legal counsel that the 'new exco' engaged for the EGM, eventually advised them to step down)

the only hope is that many people screwed up as badly too.
someone asked me why i could still be so calm after the disaster. Well, i genuinely felt that it was already beyond all my means, and so fretting over a spilled milk won't do any help anymore. But admittedly, a tiny part of me had lost a tiny tinge of hope.
I seldom get to inherit the essence of the Goodluck wishes that i get. Of course, I depend on my own efforts. But effort doesnt always equal to results. Perhaps not enough effort was put in. But ultimately, I did try to give my all. =)

红星大奖 观后感
[小娘惹] 第一男/女主角 皆落败，非常好地证明了新传媒并不是刻意想捧红他们，才将 [红星大奖] 一挪再挪。其实，坦白说，论演技而言，两人不能称是‘最佳’，所以也就没资格。
[不凡的爱] 的 陈汉伟 算实至名归。女主角方面，比起 [小娘惹] 白薇秀，以两部戏占了两个名额的陈莉萍其实更应该获奖。
在 男/女配角方面，[黄金路] 的 周初明，[小娘惹] 的 黄慧、向云，当然都不负众望，不过林梅娇的恨角色能称上是遗珠。
[最佳综艺主持人] 的 郭亮 及 [最佳资讯节目主持人] 的 李心钰，他们的表现也没得挑剔的。不过连获5届 [最佳新闻播报/实事节目主持人] 的 董素华 实在有点不可思议。
[十大] 出现了惊喜：郑各评、程旭辉的闯关；鐘琴、谢韵仪的失利。。

一个值得一提的观察：最佳女主角的奖项是由SAKURA赞助的，而欧萱正好是它的代言人。或许SAKURA认定这个奖项是欧萱的囊中物吧？
