these few days had been great, only outside office hours.
.
Cos it's the first time we ever had a family-based chalet! And all my malaysian relatives came, and we had so much food. Steamboat was on the first night, and i also played mahjong for 15 minutes! That's because i was supposed to substitute my uncle for awhile, and "all money lost will be from him". But, i helped him win 20 ringgit instead, and i got half the winnings from him. But still, after i switched camp to play blackjack, i lost them all.
.
BBQ was on the 2nd night and it's quite shuang when u dun have to do the cooking yourself. It was done by the 3 maids that were hired by each of the 3 malaysian families. Then, because my dad was willing to fetch us to school/work the next morning, we all stayed overnight. And i played BJ all the way till 3am, losing almost 15 ringgit, because we played small bets only.
.
So, don't think that family chalets are boring. Oh ya, i really applaud my parents for essentially 'moving' our house there, with the bringing of really all the essentials. My dad even brought a DVD player, a CD player, trays of cups & glasses and dozens of plates & utensils. And really, many many more. It can really be home if the computer is there too.
.
---------------------
As for today, i met eric, yuanshao, khengwee for a movie, Letters from Iwo Jima. Ok, the very very first time when i saw this title (which was like a few months ago), I thought it reads "Letters from 1wo Jima". (First warrant Jima).
.
Ok anyway, i slept in the movie! Haha, but i think the movie should be nice, cos of the many good reviews on it, and the awards and nominations it had garnered. And also, I slept cos of the comfort of the seat, not due to the movie la.
.
Then i met my Lanjiao Sect(geraldine, yitsiang, hangping) for dinner at Waraku. We watched a little of the Chingay parade, and i realise that this annual possession had transformed from a mere substitute for CNY Firecrackers some 35 years ago, to Asia's Grandest Street & Float Parade. And a large group of onlookers was made up of tourists and other ethnic citizens. So it has evolved to be quite a national cultural affair, which i guess is good too.
.
--------------------
Anyway, I may have landed myself in deep shit from one of the overnight duties i had done, cos actually something bad happened. I'll die if those at the top really wants people to be responsible for that.. Im hoping for the best, and i'll try not to reveal more, until things are much clearer.
.
Good luck to me.

夸张! 夸张!
.
Yes, we're having a family chalet with all my Malaysian relatives from Wednesday to Friday at Pasir Ris, BUT if you see the amount of things our family alone is bringing, you may think we are going on a week-long vacation.
.
Then, considering that there are 2 other big families and 1 other smaller family, I foresee everything to be quite messy and chaotic down there. This is partly due to a steamboat dinner on the first night and BBQ on the second night, which will result in the bringing of bags and bags of food. I'm thankful that I suggested buying the BBQ food from this place, which will reduce some of the hassle.. .
But generally, i still feel that this new year has been largely boring. Maybe one small reason is because i didn't get the chance to gamble, and also there weren't any reunion dinners with my friends too. Perhaps everyone was comfortably thinking that someone else will organise.. Then again, I missed the 07/04's reunion dinner due to duty too..
.
And then again, thinking that im back to that kind of dreaded lifestyle again from tmr, turns me off pretty much. Worse still, one sailing has been scheduled on thursday, which kinda dampens my mood a little.
.
Luckily the steamboat and BBQ on the next 2 nights can serve as temporary reliefs.

JUST 5 MINUTES into what-could-be my furthest driving experience (to Malaysia), I was thrown out of the driver's seat. That's because shortly after the car started, we all realised that we had overlooked the fact that I have to extend my passport validity every year. ALL OF US had cleanly forgotten about it, until when we had already started the journey up North!
.
And so, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 20 YEARS, I get to see how Singapore is like on the First Day of CNY. And of course, the rest of my family made their way there, and I had to follow Aunt's family to go visiting in Singapore.
.
As if this isn't dramatic enough, when I reached Aunt's house, another mega drama had just ended.
.
This has to be one really eventful Chu Yi all these years.
