Yooohoo.
The first OVERSEAS Trip of the year came and went! It may not qualify as a 'Travelling Trip', but it is, still, overseas.
7 of us went Batam for a cool day doing Cable-Ski. Erm, a little too 'cool' though, as a 1.5-hour rain totally froze us. Not to mention THAT very-very-near lightning that blinded us/deafed us/shook us. That impact was just........unbelievably scary.
The 7-hour long session came at a cheap S$97, inclusive of a 2-way ferry transfer, a mini-bus ride and a lunch.
I'm sure everyone of us had a wonderful experience skiiing atop the water surface, and the word 'Fun' was too much of an understatement.
We've promised to return again. Hopefully the next time round, more CampComm members can join us then.
We brought back sore arms, but the bigger returns on that day were good company, laughs, exhaustion from fun, and a rare experience. Way too cool.
I'll try to produce the video of it soon, by the end of the weekend.

And I've officially submitted my application for Shanghai World Expo.
Writing 2 essays (One in English and One in Chinese) wasn't that difficult. I had them churned out within a leisure 6 or 7 hours.
You'd probably be interested to know that I actually had the Chinese Essay done first, then translating it to the English version. So the Chinese version is probably the better version, since it was thought out in Chinese.
It isn't that big a challenge, because I've always believed that I must stay connected with Chinese. I read Chinese papers 7 days a week, but I only read the English papers at least twice a week, since I know I would have no lack of exposure to the working language anywhere in this country.
Hope to hear from the World Expo soon..... no matter what the outcome goes.
