The parents and small sis are in Vietnam. I was quite excited for them, because I did enjoy Vietnam, apart from the pickpocket experience. I spared no chance at reminding them about being careful with their belongings, and especially so when Papa just bought a DSLR 2 days before departure.
Oh yeah, the DSLR's going to be an exciting toy that I hope to play with, and travel with.
This is the 3rd time the parents are travelling in as many years. It's a good sign. It's really time that they should feel comfortable with putting down their burden at home and unwind. Even better too, that they're travelling with their new-found clique of friends from the Dharma classes. I can totally see the transformation of my parents over the past 4 years--more outings with friends; more topics to converse about; more commitments outside home; more technologically-savvy; and generally happier and younger.
With 3 trips in 3 years, I think Papa is gradually being less overly-thrifty now. He is still super super thrifty, but at least he's beginning to start spending on himself like this. I'm happy to see that.

Anyway, I haven't have any plans for a holiday this year yet. With 3 more months of probation to go, it would already be in the 2nd half of the year when it's over. I really can't imagine having nothing to look forward to.
