《着迷。陈洁仪》演唱会

4 years since her last solo concert 《想像空间》at the Marina Bay Sands, I had been looking forward to her next performance. It finally came on Friday evening.
It seemed that she had gained quite a number of fans from China, thanks to her appearances in 我是歌手3, where she unfortunately became the first singer to be eliminated, largely because of her comparatively softer vocals against the other Powerhouses in the competition. But at the concert, when she asked who's from China, quite a sizeable audience made themselves heard.
Kit the diva continued to make her fans love her, through very entertaining talking segments. She spoke in a mixture of Chinese and English, which she specially told the audience from China at the beginning of the concert to expect that, because here in Singapore, we like to "speak a little of everything". Her bilingualism was admirable, and she effectively expressed herself very well in whichever language she spoke, and even tried to teach the audience the origins of industry terms like "芭乐" 、"洒狗血" etc.
The theme "Spellbound" was apt too, as that was what she's capable of achieving. Not just her own songs, she also did a number of English and Cantonese songs that captured the audience. Her strength in singing, is how she's always able to turn songs into musical-like performances, 'telling' stories through her vocals. Like when she sang Stephanie Sun's 尚好的青春, it was such a totally different feel. She also effectively gave 张国荣's songs new life, in the likes of 追 and 左右手, which she also sang at 我是歌手3. She reprised all the songs that she performed at the show too (心动，心如刀割，Nothing Compares to U).
I probably loved the '唱故事' segment the most, when the entire theatre dimmed for a starry projection all around. The band was softer during this segment, leaving her vocals to take charge. There was also another "Unplugged" segment, when she performed some of her lesser-known songs. The audience probably enjoyed the songs which are must-sing classics, as these songs got them singing together: 担心、炫耀、心痛、喜欢你、天冷就回来、等了又等、入戏太深 、伤了和气、Home etc...But she missed out on a few others like 逼得太紧、伤心.
The not-so-surprising guest that she brought onto the concert was 叶良俊，who sang 兄妹 with Kit in the form of a duet. It was more of a prelude to his very own solo concert, coming up in a few months' time.
I must say I enjoyed Kit's performances, because you can be sure that she would always deliver her songs very well, and in a top class of her own. She's a rare homegrown diva, and certainly deserves home support. Would I still be looking forward to her next concert? Certainly.
