马年！
It's Chinese New Year and my favourite time of the year again. I'm secretly looking forward to ushering in the Year of Horse, because of a lacklustre Year of the Snake, and also because people are saying that this year will be a good year for us who were born in the Year of the Rabbit. Though we don't really believe in these 'predictions', they at least give me some good-feel about my own outlook for the next one year. Whether it's really a good year for career and romance, let's see...at the end of the year.
It's a good long weekend break, so good that I dread to face the mountain-load of work tomorrow! The past 4.5 days had been too great.
除夕, we went Bedok to do our annual last-minute cleaning, then had a slightly earlier simple reunion dinner. Thenafter, we headed to 慧严 to take part in our first Lunar New Year Puja, as a half-volunteer-half-attendee. It's a pity 2nd uncle didn't come with us.
初一, as were the past 3 years, we lazed at home till late afternoon before heading to Bedok for the 1st 拜年 gathering. We continued with our interesting 3-year (now 4th-year) tradition of taking the same photos at the same spot with the same people at the same positions. It was almost 10pm when we left for Pasir Ris to visit the 2nd home.
初二, we set off for Malaysia. Since 外公 passed away 5 years ago (time flies!), it's the first time I went to the new 外婆家, which is so much smaller than the house that was sold. Then we set off for 阿姨家, which had no Wifi and no TV and no updated newspapers and I realised I was in much agony without these. We had dinner at a nearby OldTown White Coffee, which had Wifi, and we ended up staying there for hours, all glued to our phones (papa and mama and 阿姨 included). With a massive jam on the Causeway on our way back, we reached home around 3am.
初三，I met my ex Japanese classmates for lunch at this place below, with a pretty view of the city skyline. Then it was a really mini meetup with WX over dessert. The evening was spent with ECC over sinful McDonald's.
初四, I took Leave from work, hence it's an extended long weekend for me. It was to celebrate Papa's birthday with a relatively good meal and a movie. The parents only watch 1 movie per year, and it usually only happens during CNY.. We caught 狮神决战 (The Lion Men), and I'm secretly happy that it's a 2-parter local movie, because I'd be able to take them to the cinema again soon.
