-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last weekend, the interns had our 6th outing and we played Lasertag. Ok strictly speaking, they played, since I volunteered to conduct the game for them. Having conducted the game many times, this was actually just the first time for people that I know. And it feels very much different. At the back of my mind, I was perhaps overly concerned about many questions: whether they’d like the game or whether they would think that it was too expensive or whether the location was good enough for their pleasure, etc etc. After all, I suggested this when plans for Paintball came up, and I certainly won’t want Lasertag to turn out to be a poor substitute for Paintball, without the pain/paint.
I was glad they felt it was intense. Even during the very first mission, some of them were asking me “How long more?”. It was visibly tiring, from their looks and perspiration, and the animated discussions during the break in between missions. Then 2 more vigorous missions followed to end off the 1.5-hour session. When some of them began suggesting to come back for more before graduation, it was clear that they did enjoy it very much.
