4th May--It was the penultimate day of campaigning! The best part is, the WP's 2nd rally for Aljunied GRC was held just in front of my house!
This was taken at 8:20pm, way before more people arrived for the climax after 9pm. Anyway, I can vouch for the statement that every person that you see on that field, braved mud to listen to the candidates. My feet were soaked and my toes were wrinkled by the time I emerged from the swamp.
Over at my block, all the corridors were full. But the best atmosphere had to be at the field itself.

In 2006, I went for a WP rally too. At that time, this supporter carried the banner that read: “新加坡人很有种, 后港人更有种。” Fast forward to 2011, while 后港 continued to be a hot seat, 阿裕尼 undoubtedly grabbed the most attention.
Anyway, for the speeches, the best ones continued to be those presented by Pritam Singh, Sylvia Lim and Low Thia Khiang. The more I listen to Pritam Singh, the more I'm convinced that he's a born speaker. The speech he delivered here drew my loudest applause, I really enjoyed much.
Sylvia Lim's speech here was one that was serious and far-reaching. No threats of course, but it spoke of not just town issues, but also of a larger cause.
Low Thia Khiang's speech was powerful, both the Mandarin and English ones. In his Mandarin speech, he linked today (4th May) with the famous 五四运动 in China. And also gave his strongest guarantee yet, that whatever National-level programmes that had been given to Aljunied GRC will continue. Town programmes will also be rolled out, in a value-for-money manner that will not result in a wastage of resources. He stressed that "Life will still go on". In the English speech, he took on the challenge by George Yeo to announce his plans for the town in the next 5 years.

The last day of campaigning will take place tmr (5th May). A whopping 15 rallies will be held all over the country, but I have already set my sight on the potentially most talked-about one, in Serangoon Stadium again. Updates soon.
