It rained during Windsurf camp again!
Day 1's weather wasn't good. Very rainy and not much wind towards the late afternoon. Exactly 1 year since I last surfed, I made limited progress to find back the correct techniques to get moving on water.
Day 2 was much better. I managed to leave the bay area and made a few turns as intended. However, my skills (or rather, the lack of) couldn't bring me back to shore. I swear I tried for almost an hour, but the offshore wind made it difficult for me to return. The rescue boat came.
The 2nd half of the day was similar. I left the bay easily, but wasn't able to return again. All of a sudden, the skies changed colour and the water turned dark blue. The imminent storm generated gusts of heavy winds that ensured most of us were unable to even uphaul the sail. I tried to 'self-rescue' by paddling back, but after a draining half an hour, I realised I was still stationary at the same spot! The rescue boat came again.
Windsurfing's a thrilling fun sport that REALLY requires more practice. My once-a-year affair with the sport, albeit enough to derive some level of enjoyment, was insufficient when it comes to being fairly proficient in doing what is intended. I'm not sure if I can find time for some practices over the weekends in the next 6 months, but that is really essential.

On a totally different subject, the start date of my attachment has been postponed to the first week of Jan! Certainly happy and appreciative of the few more days of holidays!
