I was in a bookstore this afternoon, and chanced upon an interesting title. I spotted some handwritten notes inside this thin book, and so decided to flip over.
To my surprise, it really was a little note book, left there for people to fill in. Initially, I thought it was a 'guestbook' for the patrons of the bookstore to pen their well-wishes. It isn't so, apparently! It's actually a little fun activity -- that if anyone happened to 'find' this book, he/she may write down the little things that he/she wants to leave behind..
A few of these notebooks will be left in public spaces all over Singapore in the last week of 2010.
Isn't this nicely written:
"We all leave things behind, little traces of ourselves. We leave old things behind, in search of new things. We lose things along the way. We leave things behind for posterity, to remind the people we will become of, the people we once were. We leave things behind for someone to come along and find, in the hope that what we leave behind tells a story for those who follow..."
These are the writings by people who had chanced upon this particular book earlier than I did (click for larger version):
Initially, I had wanted to just leave the book as it is. But soon I decided to contribute to this little cause and scribbled some well-wishes as well:

Vincent, who was there as well, wrote something down too.

I'll send my photos to the blog, and perhaps you'll see our contributions up there too! DO OPEN YOUR EYES over the next 2 days to see if you happen to see any of the other books left lying around, and write in them too!
