Today's the 5th birthday of this humble, little, boring blog.
To you and you and you, who still bother to drop by, I really don't understand what makes you want to come. Sometimes I really cringe at the (lack of) substance in this space here.
My life's mundane. My days are uninteresting. I don't write well, though I try to make it a point to post grammatically-correct entries.
I used to 'publicise' the blog address on msn nicks. But over the years, I prefer to keep it low profile. Probably having a not-so-high traffic, enables me to feel less stressed at airing views and opinions, occasionally.
Come to think of it, to myself, writing entries on a blog is not just to satisfy the few visitors. I remember that I used to fantasize about being an author at a young age. I really can't remember if I'd really tried writing stories. I probably did? Shortly after I registered for this blog years ago, I imagined being a columnist--like those you see in The Sunday Times. Look, the similarities are great: you talk about an issue and then make use of your creative writing styles to convey your opinions. The only difference is that the real columnists write well; command good language; and have views that people bother to know about. Casual bloggers, like me, have all the opposite attributes.
But I love this little space here. Apart from the little self-censorship I impose on myself, I feel at ease updating here--sometimes hoping that readers benefit from the things I posted (like the Tokyo 2007 entries), and sometimes plainly taking this space as an avenue to vent displeasures. And sometimes really posting very random stuff; while other times just wanted to deposit and document precious memories that I really don't hope to forget.
Just like this, 773 entries were published over 5 years. This will continue for as long as I feel that an online persona for myself is of use. As for you and you and you, who bothers to drop by no matter how dumb you might sometimes feel, you're invited to keep this weird habit ongoing!
(P.S. And do make your presence felt here, by writing rubbish any comments on the tagboard. It's Free!)
