I crashed a bit of Engincamp over the past week. This would be the 3rd Engincamp in as many years.
My university life started with this camp in 2008. I joined alone as a freshie, had great fun, and STILL think it is one of the best camps in NUS. The only thing was, the gender ratio in 2008 was "8 guys: 2 girls". But that didn't take away much enjoyment, in my opinion.
Then in 2009, I found myself in the camp committee for the same camp. It was a totally different experience, from a organising team's position. The sense of satisfaction, to have contributed to one of the best camps in NUS, was great. That year, we achieved a gender ratio of "6 guys: 4 girls". Till then, it was the best ratio ever, and the new programmes and arrangements we had seemed to resonate well with the freshies.
This year, I merely crashed a little, and had very little interaction with the freshies. The camp programme and games were quite similar to the one we formulated last year, which is good, as it kinda shows that our effort last year were still appreciated. Apart from the Finale Night, which was a little dull at times, this year's comm did well. The gender ratio had reached "5 guys: 5 girls". Now, even girls had to be put on the waiting list and were rejected due to constraints. Engincamp has therefore, reached a new milestone.

The incessant cheering at the end of Finale Night DID convert a part of me to Oweek. Now I can't decide if I'm more geared towards YOG or Oweek.
