I blogged about this week's The Amazing Race (Season 16) Episode in a Spoiler Entry HERE two months ago. So most 'sightings' from the global The Amazing Race 'detectives' were accurate.

8 years have passed since the world-renowned and award-winning series dropped by Singapore, and as what the producers said, the city has transformed so much from the last time they came, that it was 'almost like visiting a new city'.
Compared to the places they visited and the boring tasks they did the last time (back in Season 3), I'm glad it was much more exciting this time round! Kudos to the Singapore Tourism Board, which worked closely with the production team when they were here last December.
Well, let's just have a recap on Season 3:
a) Arrived at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station
b) Went to the National Orchid Garden.
c) The Detour task was either at
........i) Choa Chu Kang flats (to search for PCK) OR
........ii) Singapore Zoo (to search for Manatee).
d) Went to the Fountain of Wealth
e) Pitstop at Mount Faber, greeted by ex-Miss Singapore Universe Jaime Teo.
Here's the more exciting one in Season 16:
a) Arrived at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station
b) Went to Victoria Concert Hall
c) Teams can fight for "Fast Forward", where they were required to come out of the highest capsule on the Singapore Flyer and crawl over to the next.
d) Other teams had to complete the Detour task, either at
........i) Speaker's Corner (to perform with a lion dance troupe) OR
........ii) Rochor Road (to sell 25 Singapore-style ice-cream sandwiches)
e) Went to Istana Park
f) Went to ASL Shipyard for Roadblock task -- Count the number of links in a anchor chain
g) Went to Sentosa Megazip Adventure Park -- Zip down to the little offshore islet
h) Pitstop at Marina Barrage, greeted by a 'Singapore Girl' in SIA uniform.
It's pretty cool having the ONLY FastForward in this leg of the race in Singapore, and much cooler to have the authorities permit such a cool task at the top of Singapore Flyer. Even the producers of the show were surprised at the ease of getting it approved!
Many times in the show, the cameras were strategically placed to capture the new skyline around the city area, showing both the Marina Sands IR and Singapore Flyer, both of which were obviously not built 8 years ago. And when they entered Sentosa, the cameras just had to capture the tagline "Sentosa--Asia's Favourite Playground" a few times. I can see STB responsibly playing it's part here. The choice of Marina Barrage as the pitstop was strategic too - as the background was conveniently the city's new skyline in the Marina Bay.
I enjoyed this episode, not just for the familiar sights, but also for the realistic competition between the lesbians and the models. (Their enmity started right from Episode 1). The 'U-turn' was interesting as the models really took it against the lesbians. At the same time, the detectives were really good plotters - knowing for sure that the lesbians would definitely be U-turned and not themselves, who were strong contenders themselves.
3 more episodes to the Finale, and most of the 4 teams that are left standing had got their fair share of being 1st in the individual legs. I'm hoping to see a showdown between the cowboys and the detectives.
