It's my favourite festive season!
For the 2nd time in 23 years, I didnt spend CNY Day ONE in Malaysia. Ok, the first wasn't intended--I only realised my passport wasn't renewed when I was already on the way to Malaysia, and so had to be left behind.
This year was due to some special arrangements made, and I probably would make the trip this coming Saturday.
This year will very likely be one in which the red packet collections mark a new low. But I've long outgrown the stage when I look forward to these bonuses every year. The amounts don't really matter anymore, especially when sometimes I can earn more than the collective amount in a month. (Disclaimer: Having a small extended family means the amount isn't big in the first place.)
Today's visiting allowed me to make a major discovery. The tarnished pastor in the previous entry is actually a distant relative of a relative (=not related), and hence I got to hear stories! Stories that I can never share on this platform. (Sorry!)
Right. 初三 and 初四 shall be spent visiting friends.
初七 probably at Malaysia.
初八 squad reunion dinner.
初九 company dinner.
And then it's the dreadful 2nd half of the semester.
人生是黑白的.
