Just back from 徐佳莹's 校园音乐会 at NTU with MQ. Now I understand why NTU has a campus concert every 2 months--because NUS doesn't really have a decent Lecture Theatre with a stage (and a big one at that.) Or perhaps there's one, but I've yet to come across. Maybe that's why record labels keep sending singers to NTU's Lee Kong Chian Lecture Theatre time and again. =(
徐佳莹 is really much petite in real life. She has some sense of humour too. On the whole, I think she's cute and after watching her performed the 5 songs just now, my impression of her increased.
智勇：“让我们请徐佳莹介绍这张创作专辑好吗？”
徐佳莹：“好啊！那么，大家都听过专辑吗？” （观众：有！）“那我还介绍什么啊。。”
I was looking forward to hearing her sing 2 great songs. And she did--身骑白马 and 失落沙洲 (click on them)
! I was pretty engrossed in them.
I've heard both of these songs during her 超级星光大道 (Season 3) competition and that was when I think she's a pretty talented and brave composer-cum-vocalist. She actually chose to sing her own compositions in a singing competition! With that, she sailed to clinch the champion in that season, and now emerge as a singer with a self-composed album.
Being nominated as the 'Best Female Vocalist' at this year's Singapore Hit Awards, alongside powerhouses A*Mei and Fish Leong, it does spell something for her. Especially for a newbie with just a debut album. With good compositions, she'll go a long way.

And NUS PRU should seriously buck up in arranging for more campus concerts, to satisfy the Mando-pop population here.
