It was ALL-HAIL-UNIQLO on the first day at Tampines One. The store was the only one that required a queue to enter. I almost wanted to decide to come back another day after seeing the queue, but eventually decided against it, afterall it was the only reason I went to the new mall. Fortunately, it was just a 15-minute wait.
There's easily a hundred people in the store at any one time. Guess the publicity worked very well. It was splashed on front pages of papers; at City Hall and Tampines MRTs; on radio, etc. Or perhaps people, like me, just wanted to catch on the hype that surrounds the opening of the First Southeast-Asia store of Japan's Number One Casual Wear Brand.
(If this is the first time you've heard of the brand, do thank me for mentioning here! )
The sale was mouthwatering. Decided on 3 items. And I've already shortlisted the items for my next visit. I was tempted to get a pair of jeans this time round, but ditched the thought, since I've yet to wear the Levi's that I exchanged a few months back. I guess I really can believe that some followers of Uniqlo ONLY swear by the brand.
The second one will hit Ion Orchard in June. Hopefully there'll be another round of opening sales? The current one ends 10 days later, on the 19th.
