Tomorrow will be the Singapore Hit Awards 2007. Here is my predictions for the 28 awards this year. How spot-on will I be? Results will be out tomorrow!
1. 最受欢迎男歌手奖 Most Popular Male Artiste
Tank 吴克群 周杰伦 品冠 张学友 张栋梁 曹格 林俊杰 牛奶 陈奕迅
My guess: 周杰伦. 60% of results come from the weekly charts, and he is the highest pointer there. 40% of results come from online polls, which he would definitely outdo the rest.
Likely close contenders: None.

2. 最受欢迎女歌手奖 Most Popular Female Artiste
何耀珊 孙燕姿 容祖儿 张韶涵 梁咏琪 梁静茹 石欣卉 萧亚轩 蔡依林 许茹芸
My guess: 孙燕姿. 60% of results come from the weekly charts, and she is the highest pointer there. 40% of results come from online polls, and she made it to the top 3 there. What's more, she is attending the awards!
Likely close contenders: 蔡依林. But not that likely anyway.

My guess: 飞轮海. 60% of results come from the weekly charts, and they are the highest pointer there, among the list. 40% of results come from online polls, and they made it to the top 3. They are attending the awards too.
Likely close contenders: 蔡旻佑 or 李宇春. Neither can be really close contenders, and even if they win, it shows that their fans worked hard for the 40%. But, unlikely.

My guess: S.H.E. 60% of results come from the weekly charts, and they are the highest pointer there. 40% of results come from online polls, they made it to top 3.
Likely close contenders: 五月天 or 飞轮海. It seems to be a close fight among the 3 Taiwanese groups. 五月天 and 飞轮海 might fall behind in the 60% chart results, but their fans are more active voters than S.H.E's. Furthermore, 飞轮海 is attending, will they clinch the award because they 'showed face'?

李宇春 张敬轩 胡彦斌 花儿乐队 羽泉
My guess: 李宇春. This award is 100% based on online polls, but I doubt Singaporeans did their active part in this category. Given that China voters made up majority of the voters, she would definitely win.
Likely close contenders: None.

张栋梁 曹格 李吉汉 梁静茹 品冠
My guess: 梁静茹. This is a hard guess. Since it is 100% online polled, we have to look at fan base and their activeness. 梁静茹's Singapore fans may not be active voters, but perhaps overseas voters might just fill the hole.
Likely close contenders: 张栋梁, 曹格 and 李吉汉. That's why it's a hard guess. 张栋梁 has a growing fan base and his performance on chart is significant. 曹格's abilities can't be ignored and he has quite a number of songs on chart, though not especially well-performing. 李吉汉 was the first Malaysian Idol, and had been the Best Selling Newcomer in Malaysia. He's popular in Malaysia.

梁咏琪 陈奕迅 张学友 侧田 方大同
My guess: 方大同. Youngest among the other contenders, his fans might be more active. Furthermore, he's attending the awards, so who else?
Likely close contenders: 陈奕迅. He was his loyal fan base here and overseas.

8. 地区最受欢迎歌手奖(台湾）Most Popular Regional Artiste (Taiwan）
五月天 S.H.E 蔡依林 飞轮海 周杰伦
My guess: 蔡依林. I must say this award is this year's closest fight. All 5 can be the winner, since all 5 are really the most popular figures in Chinese pop today. 1 top Male singer, 1 top Female singer and 3 top groups vying, but I stick to 蔡依林 because of her mass appeal and her far-reaching influence on today's teens.
Likely close contenders: I really wanted to put the remaining 4 here. But perhaps 周杰伦 still stand a higher chance when compared to the other 3 groups.

My guess: [逆光] 孙燕姿 （EMI）. Afterall, this is a Singapore awards event, and also, 孙燕姿 is attending. Generally speaking, this album was better done than her previous one. And, most of her production team are coming too.
Likely contenders: [依然范特西] 周杰伦 （SONY BMG）. It sold well and consisted of a wide range of genres.

Likely contender: 单曲: 障眼法, which is also written by 作词人：小寒. The lyrics is less conventional and has a tinge of uniqueness, and could hence be the underdog.

My guess: 林俊杰. Without 孙燕姿, he's the most deserving. Newbies aside, 黄义达 didn't quite make it big anywhere, and neither does 何耀珊, who is the least deserving.

Likely close contenders: 飞轮海 and 迷路兵 are attendees as well.
