MEASURES TAKEN TO ENHANCE MY LUCK (though not scientifically proven):
1. I wore red
2. I prayed before leaving home
3. I brought along my religious item
HOW EFFECTIVE:
1. The rain stopped before my test
2. I was assigned my forte test route (Route 1)
3. My engine didn't stall even once (It stalled a few times during my warm-up drive)
4. My performance in the circuit was the best ever, even better than with my instructor
5. I kena "one of the more challenging" tester. According to instructor, he's a ganchiong spider who never followed the test route. In fact, the entire route i took didn't even complement with ANY parts of the assigned route. And it was cut so short that I was one of the first to be back although I was really the last to get out.
6. I passed! (though barely passed, but still its a pass!!!)
MY RESULTS:
Inside the circuit: no mistakes and im really relieved.
On the roads: A total of 18 demerit points were awarded, which is the maximum number before I fail.
--6 points for "Fail to keep left (road hogging)".
--6 points for "Fail to slow down when approaching road hazards".
--4 points for "Fail to check blind spot".
--2 points for "Fail to signal in good time".
Actually, I can argue lor, cos i DID check my blind spots. And he actually ticked 3 boxes in a row (first 2 carry no demerit points, only the 3rd onwards). The reason why he ticked 3 boxes, is because he just wanted to make sure i got penalised for that mistake. But then, seriously, the route was so SHORT that there's not even 3 chances for me to check blind spots la. But luckily, I passed, and that's all i cared for.
So im now very very relieved. Finally I can let off a heavy load inside since end of last year. No more stressful Sunday mornings! No more expenses on driving lessons! And finally im now a qualified driver!
SOME STATISTICS WORTH SHARING:
--Total number of practical driving lessons: 29
--Total expenses on driving lessons alone: $726
--Total expenses on tests--theory and practical (including car rental for test): $115.50
--Driving license fee--Provisional license and Actual license: $100
--Total amount spent to get the actual driving license: $941.50
