1^st week of exams has passed. 5 papers completed.
2 more weeks to go. 10 more papers await me.

Maths Paper

I thought I would do well for maths, considering for paper 1 that I left only approximately 10 marks blank. So some mistakes in paper 1 should still get me 80. But paper 2 was kindof screwed. The entire ‘plank’ question was really out already. And the ‘height’ question was just ridiculous. I actually got a negative answer for standard deviation. So that’s another question gone. Then I oso left a 4-mark part blank in the earlier part, together with another 4-mark gone in the option question. I wouldn’t dare to think about paper 2 already. But its really really disappointing la.

Chem paper 3

This paper was screwed. Question 7 is a sure-zero, cos I can’t deduce a single compound. And the worse thing is, even the mass spec compound was deduced unsuccessfully. The last 2 food chem questions were equally bad, and I cant even draw structures for starch and cellulose. Blanks were left out here and dere as well. And there was the thermochem question, which my answers were proven wrong.

I cant be anymore certain that I did worse for A levels than I did in prelims. But I guess fretting over it wun help in any way, so the only practical thing now is to nail the topics for paper 2 really hard in my brain……………

I was quite lost when I saw none of the 12 questions carried the 2 major topics that I studied for—environment and poverty. To think I actually spent the entire day before memorizing quotes and statistics to help me.. Now it looks like im a big fool, to have wasted an entire precious day…

And come to tink of it, I somehow answered “To what extent should the State be involved in the world of business?” as “Should the State be involved in the world of business?”, cos I really dun remember emphasizing on the extent.. Damn..

Paper 2 passage was easy but the questions weren’t. And I barely did half of the AQ when time was up. I hope it isn’t wishful thinking that I’ll be awarded half the AQ marks for doing half the question..

And oh ya, I was quite surprised that MrFTong called everyone up last night, before the Gp exam to wish us all the best.. it was really a sincere gesture and a pleasant surprise.. And during today’s exam, he actually appeared in the exam hall and offered us sweets in the middle of the exams.. But too bad I’d still be disappointing him that I didn’t finish AQ, which was something he had stressed repeatedly, that we had to spend more time on.. hMm. Whatever it is, its over. OVER.
